Can credit card companies sue you if you dont pay your bills?

I heard that in Texas if you dont pay your credit card bills that the companies cant do anything to you, is that true?

  1. Of course they can sue you if you don't pay your bills. They can force you into Bankruptcy even. They may not threaten your life over the phone in an effort to collect the debt. But they have the rights to collect their money back. But they don't because they use the credit rating system to their advantage. You won't get any more credit card if you have bad credit.
  2. no; they can sue for unpaid balances and attach liens to property for any balances and costs unpaid.
  3. Yes, they sue deadbeats all the time; even in Texas. However, Texas has very extensive protections against attachment of debtors' income & property, so it is consequently more difficult for creditors to collect in TX than in almost any other state.
