How are credit card companies visa, mastercard etc, affected by recessions?

Are we entering a recession? and if so, how are credit card companies affected by them?

2. there will be many credit card cancellation in the next few months, and there will be lesser new enrollees. although delinquency is the problem of the banks not by visa or master however, visa and master rely on volume of users, if the volume is decreasing so is the revenue.
