- I think you know that the answer is to increase income and/or reduce your expenses. The ONLY way to eliminate debt is to pay it.
- There are many ways to eliminate debt. It is funny, however, because all the extended 7 years figures (re-aging at 6 years 364 days can reset it, folks... Payments count as re-aging, no matter the amount) is about equal to the increased money you have for a blemished score. I myself am going to: 1) Have the 'default' status removed from my Student Loan in 4 months (paying $50 a month, it is removed after 9 consecutive) = GOOD 2) Have got my Capital One balance down to $150, and will let it go back up to $200 out of a $300 Credit Limit - the first time it has been under the limit and down from the -$800- Balance since the beginning/middle of 2007... = GOOD 3) No longer am in in-house Collections for T-Mobile = GOOD And also: 1) Have Creditors for Srint, $550 = BAD (I plan on ignoring them, it has already been a year and one Collection agency sold it to the other, so I know they can only mail letters and do nothing else if I ignore them for a 2-year-old debt.) And my regular payments on other things, and after that Default goes away in June, I hope it will be better... I am waiting until the end of March to start my Credit monitoring.
- Read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover book. or research online the Debt Snowball technique.. It is a life saver and you will pay off your credit cards faster.
- Pay it, obviously.
- Ask lenders for agreement to delete this items from your credit report when paying them. I recommend to get such agreement thru credit repair agency, for example this one - creditreport.imess.net
- I have found from personal experience finding a good debt assistance company willing to work for you is the best way to eliminate credit card debt. I personally used Academy Credit. They were very nice and helpful throughout the whole process. Here is a link to their website if your interested. http://superaffiliatesoft.net/z/5097/CD2840/&subid1=IG
- To reduce debts we need to first prioritize credit cards, which we need to pay off first. Always clear those credit cards that have high interest rate. This is what I did when I was in deep neck debts.
